Cleaned HTML
Works with any Blogger blog (blogspot or custom domain) and most WordPress sites. For other sites, use Paste HTML. Checks follow Google Search Central guidance. There is no ideal word count or keyword density, so those are shown for information only. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to this site.
How to use the SEO checker
- Page URL: paste the address of a single post or page from a Blogger blog (blogspot.com or a custom domain) or a WordPress site, then select Check post.
- Paste HTML: for any other site, or for a draft that is not published yet, open the Paste HTML tab. Paste the post HTML (in Blogger, use the HTML view of the post editor), add the title and search description, and run the check.
- Optional: add a focus keyphrase to see whether it appears in the title, search description, first paragraph, headings and URL.
- Read the results from the top. Items marked Fix matter most, then Improve. Pass and Info need no action.
What the checker looks at
- Google result preview: how your title, address and description may look in search results.
- Title and search description: length, missing values, repeated words, outdated years and descriptions that read like keyword lists.
- Headings: one H1 per page, no skipped levels (for example H1 straight to H3), no empty headings and no heading that repeats the title.
- Links: internal and external links, vague link text such as "click here", empty links, javascript: links and internal links marked nofollow.
- Images: missing alt text, generic file names such as IMG_1234.jpg, and large PNG files.
- Readability: long sentences, very long paragraphs and a reading-ease score.
- Freshness and structure: last updated date, labels and featured image for Blogger, and the Yoast description for WordPress where available.
Cleaned HTML for Blogger posts
When the checker finds problems it can fix safely, it gives you a cleaned copy of the post HTML. It removes the blank-line spacers (<br />) that the Blogger editor leaves between paragraphs, re-levels headings so sections start at H2, and escapes special characters such as the rupee symbol inside scripts, which Blogger would otherwise display as codes. Your text is not changed. Copy it and paste it back into the HTML view of the post.
Blogger, WordPress and other websites
Browsers do not allow one website to read another website's pages directly. The checker works around this without any server: Blogger blogs publish every post in a public feed, and most WordPress sites share posts through their public API. Sites built on other platforms, or WordPress sites that switch the API off, cannot be read this way, so use the Paste HTML tab for those pages. It works for any website.
What this tool does not check
- Page speed and Core Web Vitals. Use Google PageSpeed Insights for those.
- Parts that come from the blog theme rather than the post, such as structured data, the canonical address and share images, when you check by URL. Paste the full page HTML to include more of these.
- Rankings or keyword volumes. The checks follow Google Search Central guidance, which says there is no ideal word count or keyword density, so those are shown for information only.
